Who says you HAVE to let your produce go bad?!

How many times have you thrown away an entire bunch of grapes because you never opened the bag up?!  I have some great tips for you and saving your fruits and veggies so that doesn’t happen.

Grapes can be frozen to make a sweet after-dinner treat.

Tomatoes can be made into salsa.

Celery, bell pepper and onion are considered to be the “holy trinity” by chefs.  Freeze and pull back out for soups and stews or to sauté and flavor other dishes.

Wilt fresh spinach before it turns bad over medium heat in a saucepan, then freeze to put in lasagna or casserole later.

Bananas can be peeled and frozen for smoothies before they go bad or mash them and put in banana nut bread or muffins.

These are just a few of the easy ones that tend to go bad most often.
